The Role

To help achieve this vision, we are looking to further strengthen our team with an experienced Managing Consultant who brings both a track record of working with healthcare organisations to define, design and implement clinical systems that enable performance improvement and transformation in healthcare service delivery, as well as experience of leading consulting engagements and generating new business through client account development and / or insight-led value proposition-based sales.

We are looking for a leader to join our team who will play a key role in driving business success during a period of significant expansion. As a member of our senior leadership team, you will be a be a natural team player with a passion for developing our people and inspiring our clients.

We’re particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience of shaping and delivering technology-enabled change programmes with national bodies, local systems and/or provider organisations. An understanding and experience of programme management lifecycle (business case, procurement, design, implementation and change management, e.g. ADKAR), plus expertise in one or more of the following is of particular interest: Electronic Patient Record Systems (e.g. Epic, Cerner, Nerve Centre, etc), Patient Engagement Portals, Screening and Diagnostics, Capacity and Demand Management Tools, Theatre Productivity Tools, Shared Care Record Systems, Pathway Information Management Systems.

You’ll bring a clear focus on benefits realisation and return on investment, and understand how digital transformation can improve outcomes for patients, staff, and systems. Whether your background is rooted in digital, operational, or strategic roles, what matters is your ability to shape, lead and deliver complex technology-enabled change initiatives in the health sector.

What would be expected of me as a Managing Consultant and member of our senior leadership team?

Delivery

  • Leading and managing teams, workstreams and/ or consulting engagements with health sector clients, with a focus on digital transformation initiatives.
  • Managing the approach taken by the engagement teams to client workshops, meetings and presentations.
  • Ensuring that all deliverables produced meet or exceed client expectations.

Quality Assurance and Practice Development

  • Ensuring quality assurance processes within engagements/workstreams.
  • Supporting practice improvement with creation of new methodologies in keeping with technological advances.
  • Ensuring lessons learned are acted upon within engagements, client accounts and shared internally to underpin continuous improvement.

Business Development & Commercial Management

  • Identifying and developing new sales leads and converting them into opportunities.
  • Leading or supporting the development and growth of key client accounts within the health sector.
  • Leading, developing or contributing to commercial proposals based on a thorough understanding of clients’ needs and requirements.
  • Managing bid and engagement commercials to achieve agreed revenue and profitability goals.

Relationships, Marketing and Value Propositions

  • Being a trusted advisor to clients at senior management level.
  • Using existing network and expanding personal network in the health sector to explore and create new leads and opportunities.
  • Leading or contributing to health sector marketing initiatives, including events, thought leadership, and campaigns.
  • Contributing to the design, development and delivery of Channel 3 value propositions in the health sector, achieving demonstrable impact and return on investment.

Who would we like to hear from?

The ideal candidate(s) will have proven people management skills and have a passion for developing colleagues across the Channel 3 business. They will provide ongoing coaching and mentoring and will support our team’s learning and development and general wellbeing.

In addition, they will have:

  • Experience in a consulting role within a management consultancy environment.
  • Expertise of the healthcare sector, the interconnectivities within it and the ways that healthcare organisations engage with consultancy services.
  • Proven capability for creating high-quality, impactful documentation and reports that can engage across all groups, holding credibility with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • The ability to interpret data and insight to support evidence-based recommendations and measurable impact for clients.
  • Strong understanding of NHS structures and business processes in the NHS, including national bodies, local systems and / or providers.
  • Experience leading healthcare digital transformation initiatives, such as EPR implementation / optimisation, patient engagement portals, shared care record systems – ideally in client-side delivery partner roles.
  • Experience in designing new processes and implementing technology solutions to support and enable clients to operate more effectively and efficiently.
  • A hands-on approach and a confidence to engage with customers and perspective clients and make things happen.
  • Highly effective communication and influencing skills to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong ethics and integrity and be a role model to others.
