Changing Suits is looking for a compassionate and culturally aware Domestic Abuse Support Worker to support individuals from South Asian communities. You’ll provide one-to-one support, help clients access services, and play a key role in promoting safety, empowerment, and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 emotional and practical support to individuals affected by domestic abuse
- Support clients with safety planning and accessing relevant services
- Deliver community awareness sessions and presentations
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings
- Maintain accurate, confidential case records
- Signpost clients to appropriate support services
Requirements
- Fluent in English and at least one of the following: Hindi or Konkani (essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work empathetically with vulnerable individuals
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
Desirable
- Experience working in domestic abuse or support services
- Experience working with South Asian communities
- Ability to assess needs and provide tailored support
