The history of this is stored in many different physical locations across the UK. Our authentic history of products and brands is the foundation for future business. Much of this information is offline, and not easily available or accessible for our current and future people. We want to remain authentic continue to inspire consumers, and tell brand relevant stories, and access our brands heritage we need to be organised and digitised, so that the stories can continue to be told, brands assets can be located, and products and samples can inspire and easily be reproduced.

Location: Finchley, North London

Work pattern: 3 days a week, Tuesday – Thursday on a freelance/ FTC basis

Duration: 2 months with the opportunity for future work

WHATS YOUR MISSION?

We don’t just create products; we build legacies and we’re on a mission to preserve and digitize our remarkable history to inspire the future. We are therefore looking for a passionate Freelance/ Interim Assistant Digital Archivist to support the transformation of our historic collections. This is your chance to work with an iconic company, curating and preserving a rich heritage that spans nearly 100 years. The role will focus on consolidating physical archives, largely in North London and preparing them for digitization to create a state-of-the-art digital archive and website.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO?

As a Freelance/ Interim Assistant Digital Archivist you will:

  • Assist in organizing and digitizing our extensive brand archive, ensuring easy access for future use.
  • Support the consolidation of physical collections from various sites across London.
  • Work closely with our team to implement a modern Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
  • Ensure the secure and efficient movement of collections, adhering to best archival practices.
  • Manage documentation, records, and metadata within a recognized Collections Management database.
  • Oversee contractors and ensure smooth handling and relocation of archived materials.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across different brands and departments.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant archival and records management standards and regulations.

WHAT DO I BRING TO THE ROLE?

You will:

  • Have previous experience in records management, museum curation, or archives administration.
  • Have a good knowledge of archival best practices, data protection regulations, and records management standards.
  • Have a diploma in Archives and Records Management or Archives Administration.
  • Be able to assimilate information quickly and explain policy requirements to colleagues effectively
  • Be familiar with MS Excel, SharePoint, Dropbox, and collections management databases.
  • Be organized, meticulous, and committed to maintaining archival integrity.
  • Be self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously.
  • Be a Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work across departments.
  • Be passionate About Heritage and Interested in brands, fashion, sports, and cultural history.
