Project Accountant - Financial Services

Change Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded business in central Edinburgh to recruit for a newly created Accountant position. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance team in a varied role that offers real scope to add value across the business. The role is primarily focused on management accounting duties and will suit someone with a strong foundation in monthly reporting, budgeting and variance analysis, who also enjoys business partnering and driving continuous improvements. Prepare monthly management accounts, including prepayments, accruals and board reporting Prepare monthly finance packs and performance reports for senior stakeholders Support the preparation of annual budgets, reforecasts and statutory accounts Deliver detailed variance analysis and commentary Reconcile balance sheet accounts to trial balance monthly Deputise for treasury accountant, authorising payments when required Support on ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed Part-qualified, fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/CA), or QBE with relevant experience Strong technical accounting skills, with excellent attention to detail Confident communicator, able to explain financials to non-financial colleagues Experience within a legal environment is a bonus, but not essential This is a permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary, great benefits, and a hybrid working week (1–2 days from the office).
