Change Accountancy and Finance is partnering with one of Scotland’s leading innovators in the Low Carbon sector to appoint a Part Time Financial Controller.
In this role you will play a key part across all areas of finance, taking responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, month end close, reporting and daily activities within the team.
The role is ideally suited to an individual with scale‑up experience who can be hands‑on whilst keeping a commercial and controls focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day‑to‑day and monthly financial management of the business.
- Develop and review a robust financial plan, including budget setting and forecast projections.
- Review and enhance financial models for investor and board review.
- Manage month end close and balance‑sheet review to create meaningful management information for board and investor presentations.
- Analyse cash flow and review debtors and creditors.
- Assist in product costing and develop management information across multiple product lines, including WIP and stock analysis.
- Complete statutory returns and other statutory reporting.
- Provide ad‑hoc accounting and transactional postings as required.
- Use strong Excel skills and, ideally, knowledge of Xero accounting.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should demonstrate a solid financial background, with the ability to balance being hands‑on and present to investors and board members clearly. Strong financial analysis, management accounting and budgeting skills are essential, and the ability to adapt to a fast‑paced growing organisation is required.
Previous experience in manufacturing or a product‑related role is beneficial but not essential.
Employment Details
Salary: £65,000.00 – £70,000.00 per annum.
Type: Part‑time (2–3 days per week, flexible work pattern).
Location: Livingston, Scotland – Hybrid pattern (1 day per week in office or as required).
Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level.
