Change Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnering with a long-term client to recruit a Legal Cashier into the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded Legal Firm that continues to go from strength to strength and expand its footprint across the United Kingdom & Ireland.

Our client is a well-established Legal firm headquartered in Edinburgh, with offices across the United Kingdom. They are recognised for their client-centric approach and have achieved consistent year-on-year growth. The wider finance team and line management are known for their supportive and people-focused culture, with exceptionally low staff turnover reflecting the positive working environment within the business.

Role Overview

This role is responsible for providing efficient and accurate legal cashiering support in line with regulatory requirements, internal procedures, and Anti-Money Laundering regulations. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations of the firm, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and banking activities are managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process client and office account receipts, payments, and transfers accurately
  • Manage CHAPS, BACS, FastPay, and International payments
  • Ensure compliance with AML regulations and firm procedures
  • Maintain client designated bank accounts and daily banking activities
  • Carry out bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
  • Liaise with Partners, Fee Earners, and colleagues regarding transactions and queries
  • Process cheque and cash banking along with client interest calculations
  • Maintain accurate records and support audit/compliance activity
  • Assist with process improvements and ad-hoc Finance duties

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a legal finance or professional services environment, alongside strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. A proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a Legal Cashier or legal finance role
  • Experience using accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
