Change Accountancy and Finance are supporting our client, based in Glasgow City Centre, to recruit a Finance Manager to their team. With a global remit, the role will be managing a small team in the review and oversight of a range of reconciliations and accounts, using an audit methodology and mindset to ensure controls are followed and discrepancies investigated and resolved.
The role is ideally suited to an individual with experience within Audit, looking to make their first move into industry, or an individual that has experience managing a team that covers reconciliations and wider balance sheet and general ledger review.
Key duties of the role will include:
- Managing a team in reviewing a range of control accounts, ensuring accuracy of postings
- Navigating the balance sheet to resolve queries and engaging with stakeholders on a global basis to review these
- Ensuring a controls methodology and approach is applied to validate queries and resolutions
- Process improvement and enhancement of existing controls and reporting
- Completing a range of monthly reporting and KPI’s
- Posting of adjustments and reviewing the work of junior team members
Excellent communicator and strong excel skills are essential. The role would suit an assistant manager looking for their first move into industry from practice who is confident at engaging the business and challenging discrepancies and errors.
Working as part of a global team, clear communication is essential, as well as being able to guide and lead junior team members in their work. A strong grasp of a complex balance sheet and general ledger accounting is expected, gained from either reporting or auditing of clients within Financial Services or a larger corporate business.
