Change Accountancy and Finance are partnering a scaling professional services company, based in Edinburgh, as they look to hire a newly created role to their team. An exciting position that will pull together financial insight and lead on process improvement and outputs.

The role is ideally suited to someone that has a solid grounding in ledger accounting and has worked in a position that requires them to lead on process improvement. Naturally minded to look for enhancements and analysis, the client is looking for someone with a strong knowledge of Power BI or similar to aid in new report development, whilst understanding finance outputs.

Applicants must have a core finance understanding but can be qualified or non-qualified. Key skills for the role will include:

  • Responsible for analysing financial data to create and develop reporting outputs
  • Maintain existing financial reporting and performance reports for the business
  • Development of a financial dashboard to aid in decision making
  • Automation of reporting using tools such as Power BI or others
  • Working closely with the wider finance team to review requirements and create meaningful insight
  • Lead on process improvements, removing bottlenecks where they exist
  • Ad hoc analysis as required

Proven background in financial analysis and using tools to create reporting is essential for this role and will be discussed at interview. A core set of accounting skills is a must to be able to offer wider insight and value to the team, as well as the information that is being reported upon. Evidence of using tools such as Power BI, Excel and enabling AI for reporting is desired for the role, showcasing your ability to engage and work with a range of stakeholders.

In return, the successful applicant will get the opportunity to take a lead in shaping the role and collaborating with individuals at all levels of the business, getting real-time feedback and support in what is an important role for the business as they look to further enable their team.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 – depending on experience

Location: Edinburgh

Hybrid Pattern: 3 days in office per week
