Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle or South East England (HYBRID – 2 days per week in office)

We’re working with a well-known financial services brand looking for an experienced Commercial Lead to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of trading performance, influence commercial strategy and shape the direction of a major Insurance portfolio
The Role
As Commercial Lead, you’ll be responsible for driving performance across a key product line, using data, insight and collaboration to deliver commercial success. You’ll work closely with internal teams covering pricing, underwriting, marketing and partnerships to ensure this Motor business meets its strategic and financial goals
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and optimising trading performance across the Motor product portfolio.
- Identifying market trends and opportunities to maximise profitability and customer outcomes.
- Leading and coaching a small team to deliver against key business objectives.
- Supporting annual planning, forecasting, and benefit realisation activities.
- Working cross-functionally with Pricing, Underwriting, and Marketing teams to ensure commercial initiatives are aligned and delivered effectively.
- Shaping the longer-term roadmap for the Motor portfolio and influencing future strategy.
About You
We’re ideally looking for someone with:
- Strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of the UK Insurance market (Ideally Motor but Pet/Travel/Home will also be considered)
- Proven experience in trading, performance management or portfolio optimisation
- Confidence analysing data and market insights to guide decisions
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A collaborative, hands-on approach with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience managing and developing team members
- Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint and ideally Power BI for reporting and analysis
