Change.org is searching for a Social Media Specialist (6 month contract) to bring multi-channel social media expertise, help the UK team develop relationships with influencers, and create dynamic content that drives brand affinity for Change.org. You will report to our Head of UK Communications. As a key member of our Marketing and Communications team, you’ll develop creative content for social media platforms; create relationships with influencers to amplify Change.org content; stay abreast of compelling issues, news stories and trends; utilise metrics to understand content performance and support the UK team by owning the social content calendar. This will be a 24-hour work week with the expectation that you will work 4-5 days per week.
Key Outcomes:
- Develop creative content for Change.org social platforms that tell our brand story and provide value to followers.
- Create relationships with influencers (paid and unpaid) that are excited to amplify Change.org content.
- Stay abreast of compelling issues, news stories, and trends to identify the right moment to elevate campaigns through social media.
- Utilise metrics to understand content performance and iterate for improvement.
- Support the UK team by owning the social content calendar, and standardising practices, including content templates and style guides.
The most important core competencies for the role are:
- Strong social media experience, including creating impactful visual and video content.
- Excellent writing skills, working with and pitching to influencers.
- Participating in social media strategies that grow followership and engage target audiences.
- Using social media to build brand affinity.
- Proven track record of engaging audiences across platforms, especially TikTok and Instagram.
- Ability to build relationships with influencers that will help drive Change.org engagement goals.
- A good understanding of the UK news landscape, particularly including coverage and trends around social justice, economic, political and environmental issues.
- Willingness to work across differences, including providing support to policy-compliant campaigns that you may not agree with but that align with Change.org’s commitment to being an open platform.
Target experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a social media role, ideally for a media/charity/campaign organisation.
- Strong on-camera presence.

All of our compensation is determined before we launch a role and based on a predetermined salary scale, the level on that scale and the cost of labour for that location.
