We are recruiting an experienced Assistant General Manager for one of the UK’s leading high-profile beachfront restaurants on the Hampshire coast. This is a standout opportunity to join a premium, high-volume destination venue renowned for exceptional food, service, and its iconic seaside location.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager will support the day-to-day running of the restaurant, taking a hands‑on leadership role across front‑of‑house operations and service delivery. You will be confident managing busy services, leading large teams, and maintaining high standards in a fun, fast‑paced, seasonal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in all operational and commercial aspects
- Lead and manage front‑of‑house teams during service
- Ensure consistently high standards of service and guest experience
- Assist with recruitment, training, and development of the team
- Manage rotas, staffing levels, and labour costs
- Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally
- Support stock control, cash handling, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and licensing regulations
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar
- Proven background in high-volume, premium or destination hospitality
- Strong leadership and people‑management skills
- Commercially aware with a hands‑on, proactive approach
- Organised, resilient, and calm under pressure
- Passionate about hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences
