This exciting new role has been developed to act as a lead between CGL and YJS and co-locate between both services as and if needed. You will liaise with Youth Justice Service regularly and effectively, ensuring a good joint-working relationship between CGL and YJS and to further develop and improve sustainable pathways from YJS into drug and alcohol service.
The postholder will work with young people, up to the age of 18, who are known to West Sussex Youth Justice Service (YJS) and in need of a drug and alcohol treatment. You will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, and act as a link person between YJS and CGL service.
In this role, you will support the effective referrals for structured support in relation to drug and alcohol use when appropriate and needed, and through utilising a young person-centred approach ensure the needs and wishes of young people are kept at the centre. With this, children and young people will be empowered to reduce risks and increase resilience.
Where: Worthing, West Sussex
Hours: 37.5 per week
Full Time Salary Range: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35
About the role:
- Act as a lead between CGL and YJS and co-locate between CGL and YJS as and if needed.
- Liaise with Youth Justice Service regularly and effectively, ensuring a good joint-working relationship between CGL and YJS.
- Further develop and improve sustainable pathways from YJS into drug and alcohol service.
- Represent CGL at relevant multi-agency meetings.
About you:
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice Systems in relation to young people up to the age of 18.
- Good knowledge and understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
- Experience of multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions.
- Knowledge of current legislation surrounding young people and young adults.
- Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
- Experience of working in an outcomes-focussed environment.
- Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people.
- Have a valid UK driving licence, and a use of own car, to work flexibly across different sites in West Sussex as required.
