Overview

Volunteer Befriender for Child in Care – Person of Roma/Slovak Ethnicity needed at Change Grow Live (CGL).

We are looking for a volunteer to act as an Independent Visitor to a child or young person in foster care. The role is to meet with the child on a one-to-one basis, about once a month, offering support, encouragement and guidance. This is a volunteering role with an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with a child or young person once a month to provide support, encouragement and guidance.
  • Engage in activities or conversations to build a positive, independent relationship outside of paid professionals.
  • Provide supervision and guidance through regular check-ins and have a key contact for day-to-day advice.
