Make a difference in your community. Start someone’s recovery journey with a warm welcome. We are looking for a friendly, compassionate, and reliable Volunteer Meet & Greet Worker to join our substance misuse service. This role is vital in creating a safe and supportive first point of contact for individuals accessing our service, helping them feel welcomed, respected, and encouraged.

Responsibilities
- Provide a warm and non‑judgemental welcome to service users and visitors
- Support individuals as they arrive for appointments or drop‑in sessions
- Help maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive reception/waiting area
- Signpost individuals to the appropriate staff or services
- Offer reassurance and a listening ear where appropriate
- Assist staff with light administrative or engagement tasks (if required)
Volunteers contribute to Change Grow Live in a variety of ways. From Admin Volunteers to Service User Reps, from Peer Mentors to Healthcare Support Volunteers, from Independent Visitors to Community Mentors each volunteer brings a unique set of skills and talents. We are incredibly grateful for all that volunteers do to support our service users. Most of our volunteer opportunities don’t need any special qualifications. We’ll make sure you get all the training and support you need. All we ask is that you're kind, open-minded and passionate about supporting people. Everyone is welcome at Change Grow Live. As a volunteer you will be treated with respect and accepted for who you are. You don’t need to have personal experience of drug and alcohol recovery to get involved.
Training Dates
Attendance on training dates is an essential part for the volunteer role, please check training dates and your availability to attend all training sessions, all training is QLS accredited.
- Mandatory: Volunteer induction training P1 14th July 2026 and P2: 15th July 2026 10am-4pm
- Mandatory: Boundaries/Confidentiality training 24th July 2026 10am-4pm
- Required: Drug awareness training 24th July 2026 10am-3pm
- Required: Harm reduction training 28th July 2026 10am-3pm
- Required: Alcohol awareness training 29th July 2026 10am-3pm
