Make a different kind of clinical impact. Not every nursing role changes a life in a single moment. This one can. At Change Grow Live, we work at the point where health, behaviour, and humanity meet. Where clinical skill isn’t just about treatment—it’s about trust, compassion, and helping people take back control of their lives.

Whether you’re an experienced substance misuse nurse or a registered nurse looking for a meaningful career move, this is your opportunity to step into a role where your clinical expertise truly transforms lives. In Croydon, you’ll work with people whose health needs are often complex, undeserved, and overlooked.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist clinical interventions—supporting individuals through detox, stabilisation, harm reduction, and long-term recovery. This is nursing that goes beyond the clinical setting. It’s proactive. It’s relational. And it’s deeply human.

New to substance misuse? You’re welcome here. We actively welcome applications from registered nurses looking to move into the substance misuse sector. If you bring strong core nursing skills, curiosity, and compassion—we will support you to develop the specialist knowledge you need. This is a sector where you can grow quickly, build expertise, and see the real-world impact of your work every day.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive physical and mental health assessments and shape clinical pathways for service users
  • Deliver and support community detoxification (alcohol and opiate) safely and effectively
  • Provide harm reduction, BBV screening, and vaccination programmes
  • Use clinical judgement and blood results to inform treatment decisions and referrals
  • Work closely with GPs, pharmacists, and wider health systems to coordinate care
  • Contribute to Naloxone distribution and overdose prevention strategies
  • Deliver health promotion, wound care, and emergency response interventions
  • Build therapeutic relationships that support long-term recovery—not just immediate treatment

You’ll also play a key role in shaping care pathways, influencing practice, and contributing to a high-quality, evidence-based clinical service aligned to NICE guidance and national standards.

Who we’re looking for

You’re a registered nurse (NMC) with a strong clinical foundation and a desire to do meaningful work. You might already have experience in substance misuse—or you may be coming from:

  • Acute care
  • Community nursing
  • Mental health
  • Primary care

What matters is that you:

  • Bring clinical confidence and sound judgement
  • Are able to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Communicate with empathy, professionalism, and clarity
  • Are committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and person-centred care
  • Can build trust with people at different stages of change

Above all—you believe in people. You’ll be supported through:

  • Structured clinical supervision and mentorship
  • Ongoing training in detoxification, harm reduction and BBV care
  • Opportunities to develop into advanced, specialist or leadership roles
  • Full support with NMC revalidation and CPD

Our commitment to you

Thrive – Creating the conditions for success. We invest in your wellbeing, development, and progression—because when you thrive, so do the people you support.

Together – Growing and learning as one. You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing clinical environment, with access to world-class learning and development.

Belonging – A culture where you can be you. We create inclusive, supportive environments where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to bring their whole self to work.
