Overview

Join to apply for the Substance Misuse Nurse role at Change Grow Live. This role is based in Westminster, London, delivering on-site clinical interventions to support alcohol reduction and detoxification as part of a community-based service.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee client care for time-limited clinical interventions using validated tools and CGL care plans.
  • Lead engagement with GP practices, arrange outreach clinics, training, and referral pathways.
  • Provide professional liaison with mental health and dual diagnosis services.
  • Mentor and support student and newly qualified nurses; provide service cover across hospital and community settings when required.
  • Deliver clinical interventions on-site; work cannot be performed from home.
  • Contribute to the new clinical offer, including alcohol assessment, treatment planning, community detoxification, fibroscanning, Buvidal clinics, BBV testing and vaccinations, wound care clinics, and phlebotomy.

Where: Westminster

Hours: Part time, 22.5 hours per week

Salary and Benefits

  • Full Time Salary: £37,184.90 – £43,384.61 (pro rata for part time)
  • Full-time hours are 37.5 per week; part-time salary is pro rata based on contracted hours.
  • 25 days holiday (+ bank holidays) rising with service (capped at 30 days).

About You / Qualifications

  • First level registered nurse with current PIN and recent relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in drug and alcohol treatment is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
  • Ability to assess and develop recovery plans and write reports as needed.
  • Clinical auditing skills to evaluate the service and identify development needs.
  • Professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach with service users and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of professional integrity in relationships with service users and professionals.
