Our Team Leaders here at Change Grow Live play an integral role in ensuring an effective service provision for our service users by creating a focused culture, engaging staff to provide an innovative and continually improving service and provide leadership, support, and development to a wide range of staff. You will be working in partnership with other local and specialist organisations to enhance user access and support, the service will complement existing commissioned services (i.e., Community Sentence Treatment Requirements). Provision may be part of a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) or support a Person on Probation (PoP’s) transition, in conjunction with prison substance misuse services, back into their local community. This will not involve clinical provision. The post holder will provide clear role modelling and leadership to their team to ensure effective service provision for PoP.

Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

  • Operational line management of a team of staff which includes supervision, appraisal, performance, and sickness management as well as ensuring staff follow CGL and external police applicable to their roles.
  • Empowering staff to promote hope, empowerment, choices, control, and opportunities that assist People on Probation (PoP) reaching their full potential as individuals and community members.
  • Manage the staff on rota, working with other colleagues within West Midlands’ Dependency and Recovery Service to ensure all elements of the service are covered appropriately. Participate in management on call duty/rota.
  • Ensure quality of service delivery through data analysis and engaging staff in service quality improvement planning. Where necessary, create team and individual performance plans to improve quality and performance.
  • Work with team, and designated Safeguarding Leads to ensure that the practices within the team and service support those PoP who are identified at risk; enabling staff to be competent in the delivery of interventions that reduce risk.
  • Working with the management team, maintain strong governance and monitoring systems, ensuring a consistent, high-quality service and ensure professional standards are met and best practice is implemented.

About You:

  • Relevant knowledge and experience of leading within criminal justice, substance misuse (including alcohol) or social care services.
  • Experience of leading, implementing, improving, and developing service provision that delivers high performance and quality standards.
  • Experience of multi-agency working; establishing and maintaining partnerships; pathway and protocol development with other professions to achieve good outcomes for PoP.
  • Understanding of culture and change management, staff engagement, service improvement.
  • Knowledge of the issues facing offenders including (but not limited to) substance misuse, health and Personal Wellbeing.
  • Extensive knowledge of the rehabilitation process and the contributing factors to success and making long term sustained offending behaviour and social functioning.
