As a Peer Mentor Coordinator with Change Grow Live you will work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of substance misuse issues, looking to take the next step in their career with a charity that will support your continued personal and professional development. The successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS check and obtain either HMPPS security clearance.

Location: Sheppey Cluster

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Full time)

Contract: 12‑month fixed term (Full‑time) – For part‑time roles, the salary and payments will be pro‑rated based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train and support a diverse range of peer mentors throughout the prison estate.
  • Manage a volunteer recruitment and support strategy within the service.
  • Work closely with Healthcare, Prison Security and Offender Management Unit to ensure robust recruitment/selection and risk management processes are in place.
  • Oversee the supply of Peer Mentor uniform requirements on a rolling basis.
  • Administer the details to ensure coordination of Peer Mentor involvement in Inductions and co‑facilitation of interventions.
  • Assist across the 4 West Kent Prisons – HMP Rochester, HMP Cookham Wood, HMP Maidstone and HMP East Sutton Park – when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of working within a prison or criminal justice setting.
  • Sensitivity in working with complex and diverse cultural issues.
