Senior Internal Communications Officer
Location: Remote / Flexible
Hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities
About the role: In this key leadership role, you’ll drive the delivery of our internal communications and engagement strategy—ensuring every colleague and volunteer feels informed, connected, and empowered.
- Lead and develop a team of three Internal Communications Officers
- Own and manage the internal communications calendar and planning pipeline
- Deliver major campaigns and high-profile communications projects
- Partner with senior leaders to provide expert strategic advice
- Continuously improve channels and content to increase engagement and impact
- Monitor performance, identify risks, and drive innovative solutions
- Champion our brand, tone of voice, and organisational values
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who combines creativity with strategic thinking and leadership:
- Essential experience & skills
- Experience in communications or marketing (4+ years)
- Proven success delivering engaging campaigns and communications plans
- Experience managing or supervising others
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- A proactive, innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
We’d particularly welcome experience in:
- Experience with tools like Mailchimp, SharePoint, Viva Engage, or Teams live events
- Knowledge of change communications or project management approaches
- Ability to use data and insights to influence communications strategies
About the team
You’ll be part of a collaborative and creative Communications and Marketing function (25+ colleagues). Working within a dedicated Internal Communications & Engagement team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we connect with our workforce across the organisation.
