We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Recovery Champion to join our Walsall team.
Where: Walsall
Hours: Part time 22.5h per week
Full Time Salary: 25077.00 (based on full time hours pro rata for part time)
Contract Type: Fixed term for 12 months from start date
Full‑time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part‑time roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
About the role:
- Provide a welcoming and consistent environment for Women in Probation.
- Create links with local communities and support women open to Probation to access further support that can empower them to make positive changes.
- Attend team meetings/group supervision with the aim of sharing good practice and finding solutions.
- Meet individuals within the community to discuss their personal goals regarding their recovery and to support families affected by drugs and alcohol to discuss their personal goals and support needs.
- Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness signposting to relevant agencies.
- Assist the Recovery Coordinator in setting up and identifying specialist advice/support and recovery opportunities.
About you
- Lived experience of drug or / and alcohol misuse
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills
- Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs whilst remaining empathetic and non‑judgemental toward Service Users
- Confident working alone as well as part of a team
- Can remain calm under pressure
- Able to travel as required including where public transport is not available
