We are pleased to announce that we are now looking to recruit Outreach Workers to join dedicated multi-disciplinary teams across the country to support people experiencing rough sleeping with harm reduction and engagement in treatment, and will sit within drug and alcohol treatment services.
As part of the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government funding package for 43 areas with the highest numbers of people sleeping rough, CGL services have been involved in developing funding proposals along with other stakeholders.
We\’re seeking a dedicated Homelessness Outreach Worker to join our Liverpool team engaging with people without access to safe accommodation with the aim of moving them into more settled lifestyles.
Where: Liverpool
Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week
Full Time Salary: £27,861.26 – £32,002.35 per year dependant on experience
Contract Type: Permanent
*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
Change, Grow, Live services and staff will provide wraparound support to individuals who are without stable housing and will work directly with emergency accommodation to support the staff with this group of people. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals and friendly faces to help support people in leading healthier lives.
You will focus on engaging with people who have a history of street homelessness and substance misuse. You will have some experience of engaging with individuals with multiple and/or complex needs and demonstrate a determined approach to finding solutions. Some knowledge of one or more of the following is required:
- Homelessness
- Mental health
- Criminal Justice System
- Substance misuse
About the Role:
- Going on outreach shifts; these include in all weathers on early mornings, nights, and weekends.
- Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
- Engaging with individuals experiencing rough sleeping and people involved in street-based activity.
- Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
- Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
- Working with partner agencies to support people using services to access accommodation, physical and mental health services, substance use services, benefits etc.
- Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
