Overview

Organisational Development Specialist

Operate where complexity meets change. Deliver OD that actually lands.

At Change Grow Live, we don’t deliver off-the-shelf development. We work inside complex systems—where culture, leadership, practice and pressure intersect—and we enable change that sticks.

Guided by our values—Be open, be compassionate and be bold—we are building an organisation that is built on evidence and compassion, and rooted in communities, aligned to our 2030 ambitions.

We’re now looking for an Organisational Development Specialist to join our national OD function—someone who can operate with credibility, judgement and impact in real-world organisational complexity.

The opportunity

This is a consultancy-style OD role, embedded within a national organisation.

You will act as an internal consultant, facilitator and system coach, partnering with leaders and services to diagnose challenges, mobilise change and embed sustainable capability.

This is not programme delivery in isolation.
This is OD as practice—contextual, adaptive and outcome-focused.

What sets this role apart

  • You’ll work inside the system, not adjacent to it
  • You’ll influence real operational and cultural outcomes
  • You’ll engage with senior leaders and complex stakeholder groups
  • You’ll deliver OD that is adaptive, contextual and sustainable

Who we’re looking for

You’re an experienced OD practitioner who is credible in front of senior stakeholders and confident operating without a script.

You will bring:

  • Strong experience in OD, consultancy, facilitation or coaching within complex systems
  • Leadership and team management experience, developing, supporting leading and managing teams, including HR practices.

  • The ability to translate theory into practical, high-impact interventions
  • Confidence working across hierarchies, professions and organisational boundaries
  • Deep understanding of systems thinking, culture and leadership dynamics
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to hold challenging conversations with clarity and care
  • A reflective, values-led approach to practice

You’re not looking for a delivery role—you’re looking for a practice role with impact.

The Details:

  • Salary*: ÂŁ44,471.72 – ÂŁ49,950.27**
  • Location: National (Hybrid, with travel)
  • If your contractual base is in London, you will also receive London Weighting in line with Change Grow Live policy.

Please note:* Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

**Salary is subject to review in line with the 2025/26 pay award.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

See what others miss
  • You won’t take problems at face value. You’ll get underneath the surface—diagnosing what’s really driving performance, culture and behaviour—and defining interventions that actually shift outcomes, not just activity.

Work where it’s messy
  • This isn’t neat, linear OD. You’ll operate in ambiguity, tension and competing priorities—using judgement, not templates—to decide what to do, when to do it, and when not to act.

Make change land

  • You’ll design and deliver interventions that connect to real system dynamics—ensuring change is felt, embedded and sustained, not just delivered and forgotten.

Challenge and influence at senior level

  • You’ll work directly with senior leaders—coaching, stretching and challenging thinking where needed—to drive better decisions, stronger leadership and real accountability.

Create clarity through insight

  • You’ll turn data, diagnostics and lived experience into sharp insight—helping teams see what’s happening, own it, and act decisively.

Build capability—not reliance

Your success isn’t measured by how much you deliver, but by what you leave behind—teams and leaders who are more capable, more confident and less dependent on OD input.

Leave a mark, not a footprint

You won’t just contribute to change—you’ll shape how it happens, ensuring OD is applied with precision, purpose and impact across the organisation.

What we offer

We recognise the value of high-quality OD practice and invest in our people accordingly:

  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), rising annually to 30 days
  • A paid weekly Wellness Hour, wellbeing hub and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • A wide range of employee benefits and discounts
  • A strong commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice

Our people commitment

We are committed to:

  • Creating the conditions for success for everyone who works and volunteers with us
  • Working together to deliver high-quality learning and organisational development that enables shared growth
  • Building a culture of belonging, where people feel valued, included and able to contribute

Our 2030 ambition

We are focused on:

  • Being built on evidence and compassion in everything we do
  • Being rooted in communities, working alongside people and partners
  • Developing a workforce that is skilled, confident and future-ready
  • Using insight, learning and data to continuously improve outcomes

If you’re ready to practise OD—not just deliver it…

If you want to work at the sharp end of organisational development—where complexity is real and impact matters—we’d love to hear from you.
