Operational Implementation Lead in Rotherham | 9-month secondment | Internal opportunity

Turn plans into practice. Great implementation is about more than having a plan. It’s about understanding how a service really works, bringing people with you, spotting what could get in the way, and making sure change lands successfully in day-to-day delivery.

We’re looking for an Operational Implementation Lead to join the implementation of our Rotherham service on a 9-month internal secondment and help lead an important period of change. This is a hands-on role, working alongside operational teams to translate plans into practical delivery and make sure new ways of working are understood, embedded and sustainable.

You’ll work at the heart of the service, creating structure around implementation and keeping delivery moving. You’ll connect people, priorities and actions — working closely with managers, frontline teams and wider stakeholders to understand what needs to happen, when it needs to happen and what support teams need to get there.

You’ll identify risks early, solve problems quickly and keep implementation on track without losing sight of the people delivering the service or those who use it. This could mean bringing different workstreams together, supporting the introduction of new processes or pathways, coordinating operational readiness, tracking progress or helping teams adapt as plans move into delivery.

This role requires previous experience of successfully implementing change at service level. We’re looking for someone who has been directly involved in taking a change, model, process or new way of working from plan to operational delivery — and can demonstrate what they did, how they engaged teams and the difference it made.

A key part of the Rotherham model is GP Shared Care, working closely with primary care partners to create joined-up, accessible treatment pathways across the borough. You’ll help strengthen this approach, supporting effective implementation across services and working collaboratively with Connect Healthcare Rotherham CIC and Rotherham’s 28 GP practices to embed sustainable ways of working that improve access, continuity and outcomes for people using our services.

This opportunity is available to current Change Grow Live employees only on a 9-month secondment. The position will commence on a hybrid working basis; however, the successful candidate will be required to work onsite from the go-live date.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. The role may include some evening and weekend working as part of a rota.

Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

This is an opportunity to step beyond business as usual and play a direct role in shaping how our Rotherham service moves forward. You’ll have the space to bring your operational knowledge, ideas and experience to a defined piece of work — building your implementation capability while delivering visible impact within the service.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrable experience of implementation at service level is essential.
  • Experience of coordinating change across operational teams and multiple priorities.
  • The ability to turn plans into clear, practical actions and keep delivery moving.
  • Confidence working with managers, frontline colleagues and wider stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond when implementation doesn’t go exactly to plan.
  • The ability to use information, feedback and performance data to understand progress and identify where additional focus is needed.
  • You’ll be comfortable working with pace and ambiguity, but equally focused on detail, follow-through and making sure change is properly embedded rather than simply launched.
