Change Grow Live Manchester is an integrated drug and alcohol service providing a range of interventions and treatment options for people experiencing problems with substance misuse, regardless of substance or age. We have an exciting opportunity for a committed individual to support our Greater Manchester services as a Community Engagement Courier.
You will work with our existing teams in Tameside and Manchester to support the efficient delivery of prescriptions and other clinical items across the boroughs of Tameside and Manchester, including:
- Organising items for delivery
- Planning routes to optimise travel time
- Building positive relationships with our stakeholders
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, along with a commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, and continuous professional development. You will be provided with a full induction, training, and supervision. We support all staff with their ongoing learning and development.
Where: Manchester
Hours: Part Time, 22.5 hrs per week
Contract Type: 12 months Fixed Term Contract
Full‑time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part‑time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
About the role:
- Collect and deliver clinical items, including prescriptions, nicotine replacement therapies, vaping equipment, and blood products, across Tameside and Manchester.
- Securely pack goods into the agreed delivery vehicle in an organised manner that matches the order of deliveries.
- Ensure all clinical items and prescriptions are stored securely during transit.
- Work flexibly across operational sites within an agreed number of hours as required, maintaining the most appropriate level of service provision.
- Work towards developing the role with appropriate support, including possible service user interventions such as carbon monoxide testing, prison gate pick‑ups, and inpatient rehab/detox visits.
About you:
- Good people skills and willingness to work flexibly as part of a team.
- A clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services.
- Experience of working in a customer service environment.
- Ability to coordinate delivery routes around Greater Manchester.
- Basic knowledge of handheld devices and relevant electronic applications.
- Good awareness of confidentiality, data protection and security of goods.
- Some knowledge, or willingness to learn about, safeguarding and how to raise concerns.
- Knowledge of local services and geography.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
