Volunteering with Change Grow Live (CGL) offers an opportunity to help people change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential. As an Opiate Recovery Support Volunteer you will collaborate with the team to manage caseloads, support service users throughout their treatment journey and provide essential training and support to enable them to achieve goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the recovery coordinator in carrying out comprehensive assessments, triage, risk assessments and risk management plans, and contribute to the development of individual community recovery plans.
- Provide 11 key work sessions, including harm‑reduction advice and recovery planning.
- Support service users in achieving their care‑plan goals.
- Support and empower service users to engage in recovery activities both within Change Grow Live and the wider community.
- Work towards holding a small caseload of low‑risk service users and coordinate their treatment options.
- Document sessions on case‑management systems.
Additional Responsibilities
- Listen to service users, share their views with the team, and use their feedback to help improve services.
- Ensure people are kept informed about any decisions or changes that result from their feedback.
Interview & Training Schedule
Interviews will take place after 30/03/26. All candidates must be available for training commencing 20/04/26, one day per week for seven weeks:
- Monday – Bradnor Point, Wythenshawe, M22 4TF
- Wednesday – The Old School House, Clayton, M11 4HA
Requirements
- Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to safeguarding practice.
- They should be able to work 1–3 days per week and commit to volunteering for up to one year.
- A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level is required.
