Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience for the people we support. You can make a difference. As an Entry into Service/Assessment Volunteer with Change Grow Live you’ll work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be. CGL Manchester Drug & Alcohol Services has an integrated approach to the delivery of substance and alcohol treatment services; we work with clients over the age of 18 and provide a wide range of services and interventions as a means of supporting them in the ongoing recovery journey. Some of the things we offer include Entry Into Service assessments, Recovery groups, Aftercare Programme and non-structured well-being activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the team in completing triage assessments for people at the beginning of their recovery journey.
  • Provide accurate information and undertake various duties that enhance or support service delivery.
  • Listen to people, share what you have heard with the service, represent their views, and use their feedback to help inform service development and improvement.
  • Help ensure people hear about any decisions or changes that are made because of their feedback.
  • Collaborate with Change Grow Live staff and connect with the wider community.
  • Adopt an assertive approach to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, young people and adults, and demonstrate commitment to safeguarding practice.

Requirements and Availability:

We are actively recruiting for 1 - 3 days per week to work within our drug & alcohol service. We are looking for people who are keen and enthusiastic and can commit to staying as a volunteer for up to one year. Interviews will take place after 30/03/26. All candidates must be available for training which will commence from 20/04/26 and will involve one day per week over seven weeks as follows:

  • Mondays at Bradnor Point, Wythenshawe, M22 4TF
  • Wednesdays at The Old School House, Clayton, M11 4HA
