We are looking for an experienced and passionate Team Leader to provide strong leadership and drive high-quality service delivery within the Thriving Families Partnership. As a Team Leader, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive, inclusive and service user-focused culture, empowering your team to deliver innovative and effective interventions. You will lead by example, ensuring that services are safe, responsive and continuously improving. The Thriving Families Team Leader will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team co-located with Manchester City Council Children’s Services, MIND, & Talk Listen Change.

Where: Manchester (the role will be based at one of the Social Services locality hubs across the City of Manchester.)

Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March, 2027

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage frontline staff, overseeing supervision, appraisals, recruitment, induction, and the ongoing development of the team.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery through monitoring performance data and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Carry a small caseload where you will provide family-led and person-focused direct substance misuse work for the adults in the family.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Support safeguarding practices and ensure staff are competent in identifying and reducing risks to service users.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, governance and organisational policies.

  • A confident leader with experience in substance misuse services.
  • Skilled in leading teams, driving performance and managing change.
  • Passionate about delivering person-centred support and improving outcomes for service users.
  • Experienced in multi-agency working and partnership development.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Committed to equality, diversity, safeguarding and professional integrity.
  • Able to self-manage workload effectively.
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience delivering high-quality, outcome-focused services.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
