Are you passionate about improving outcomes for people involved with the Criminal Justice System? Do you bring experience of substance use services, complex needs and engaging people who may not always find it easy to access support?
This is an internal opportunity to step into the role of Criminal Justice Team Leader within our Camden service and help lead an established but developing area of work. You’ll support a team working with people affected by substance use, homelessness, poor mental health and involvement with the criminal justice system. Your leadership will help ensure support is consistent, person-centred and focused on reducing harm, strengthening engagement and creating greater stability.
The opportunity
This is a short-term leadership opportunity with real visibility and impact. You’ll work closely with colleagues, emergency accommodation providers and community partners to strengthen pathways, remove barriers and improve the experience of people using the service. You’ll provide clear day-to-day leadership, support staff to manage complex situations and help create a culture that is compassionate, accountable and focused on outcomes. You’ll also contribute to the continued development of the service, bringing fresh ideas, operational insight and a practical approach to improvement. - Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
- Contract: 3-month secondment opportunity

Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. This secondment opportunity is open to current Change Grow Live colleagues only.
Responsibilities
This exciting service provides wraparound support for people involved with the criminal justice system, working closely with community providers, person-centred support. You’ll play a key role in helping people access the services they need, overcome barriers, and move towards greater stability and independence.
Who this opportunity is for
You’ll be a current Change Grow Live colleague with experience of working in substance use services and a strong understanding of the needs of people involved with the Criminal Justice System. You’ll bring:
- Experience of supporting people with multiple and complex needs.
- The ability to lead, support and motivate colleagues.
- A confident, solution-focused approach to operational challenges.
- Strong communication, partnership-working and relationship-building skills.
- The resilience and judgement to work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Knowledge or experience of homelessness, mental health or criminal justice services would also be beneficial.
Most importantly, you’ll be committed to treating every person as an individual and helping the team deliver safe, consistent and meaningful support.
About the Role
You will engage with individuals who have a history of criminal justice and substance misuse, building positive relationships and supporting them to achieve meaningful change. We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Experience of working with people who have multiple and/or complex needs
- A proactive, solution-focused approach
- The ability to build trust and engage people who may be hard to reach
- Empathy, resilience, and excellent listening skills
- Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas would be beneficial: Substance misuse - essential, Homelessness, Mental health, Criminal justice
