We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Consultant Addictions Psychiatrist to join our highly regarded Bi-Borough service, supporting residents across Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea.

This is an opportunity to combine strategic clinical leadership with direct patient care, working within one of London's most dynamic and diverse communities. You'll play a pivotal role in helping people affected by substance use achieve safer, healthier and more fulfilling lives while shaping the development of a high-performing multidisciplinary service.

As Clinical Lead for the service, you'll be a key member of the Senior Management Team, providing expert advice, leadership and clinical oversight to ensure the highest standards of care and governance are maintained. You'll work alongside a dedicated team of nurses, prescribers, recovery coordinators, psychologists and partner agencies to deliver evidence-based treatment and drive continuous improvement. About You

You’ll be an accomplished Consultant Psychiatrist with a passion for addiction medicine and a commitment to improving outcomes for people experiencing substance use and mental health challenges. You’ll bring:

  • Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
  • MRCPsych (or equivalent).
  • Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register as a Consultant Psychiatrist with endorsement in Substance Misuse.
  • Significant experience working within addiction psychiatry and substance misuse services.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing service development.
  • Strong knowledge of addiction treatment, prescribing and clinical governance.
  • A collaborative leadership style and commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

The Details

Hours: Part Time - 22.5 Hours per Week, Monday to Wednesday, 9:00am - 5:00pm*

Salary: Competitive Consultant Salary Package, salary pro rata based on contracted hours.

What you'll be doing

  • Act as Clinical Lead for the service, providing expert leadership and clinical governance.
  • Deliver specialist addiction psychiatry clinics, assessments and evidence-based treatment interventions.
  • Lead complex clinical decision-making, prescribing and treatment planning.
  • Provide supervision and support to prescribers, nurses and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Develop pathways for individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health needs.
  • Support service development, clinical audit, quality improvement and governance activity.
  • Build strong relationships with GPs, mental health services, acute trusts, local authorities and other partner organisations.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative and integrated models of care.
