As an apprentice with CGL, you have the opportunity to grow and learn whilst earning. For this role you will receive a total yearly salary of £27,007.50 for year one. As an Apprentice Healthcare Assistant, you will play an important part in delivering inclusive, person-centred support to those accessing our services. While following Change Grow Live's policies and values, you will help ensure that everyone we work with feels respected, valued, and empowered. You will also maintain confidentiality and uphold our commitment to equal opportunities, health, and safety for all staff, volunteers, and the people we support. During your apprenticeship, you will be working towards the Level 2 Adult Care qualification over the duration of 15 months.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Learn During Your Apprenticeship: Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll gain skills and experience in areas such as:
- Supporting the recovery team in engaging with people experiencing substance use challenges, providing tailored advice, support, and recovery-focused interventions to meet their needs.
- Work closely with local Social Services Teams and Family Intervention Projects.
- Promote family members' involvement to improve outcomes for children.
- Present cases at meetings for Multi-disciplinary discussion where a change in circumstances/behaviour potentially changes the service users risk profile.
- Review ongoing care and treatment liaising closely with the full range of specialist works within the multi-disciplinary team.
- Promote harm reduction and enable service users to improve their own health and wellbeing.
- Develop skills and knowledge to conduct clinical interventions.
- Promote and support individuals into both abstinence-based and medically assisted forms of recovery.
About You: We’re looking for someone with:
- An interest in the social care field, particularly in substance use and recovery.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to collaborate with managers, colleagues, and peers to achieve shared goals.
- Effective time management and the ability to work independently when needed.
- Familiarity with IT applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A commitment to personal and professional development, with a proactive approach to learning.
- A passion for creating positive outcomes for the people we support and for yourself.

Please note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship if you require it to work in the UK. To be eligible for this apprenticeship you must be either a Camden resident, a former Camden secondary school student or Camden care experienced.
