We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join our team as a Recovery Champion, working 2 days per week (15 Hours) supporting people who use our service in Knowsley to engage with substance use treatment in the community.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will work with those who are directly impacted by their own substance use, as well as working with key partners to empower communities.
Where: Kirkby Office, 24 Newtown Garden, Kirkby, L32 8RR
Hours: Part time, 15 hours per week worked over 2 days
Salary: £25,077.00 per annum Pro Rata

Responsibilities
- Meet individuals to discuss their personal goals regarding their recovery and encourage individuals to engage with substance use treatment.
- Support with covering duty, reception and group work.
- Create links with stakeholders and local communities and work to target people affected by drugs and alcohol who are hard to reach.
- Attend team meetings/group supervision with the aim of sharing good practice and finding solutions.
- Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies.
- Provide personalised recovery coaching to individuals.
About you
- Lived experience of drug or/and alcohol use.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills.
- Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental towards Service Users.
- Confident in working alone as well as part of a team.
- Can remain calm under pressure.
- Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available.

- 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays. Additionally, you'll receive one extra day of annual leave for each year of service during your first five years, therefore you will enjoy 30 days of leave after five years with us. (Pro Rata)
