The St. Thomas fund is a residential rehab, supporting people within the local area with long term substance misuse issues. This role is to support at the weekends with activities, planning and supporting with meaningful activities, giving practical advice along with supporting the wider team to give the best care to everyone.

We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly individuals to join our team as Recovery Motivators. Working within a residential rehabilitation service, you will support individuals at weekends throughout their recovery journey, helping to build a strong, supportive community where residents feel safe, valued, and motivated.

When: Weekends
Hours: Part time, 15 hours per week
Contract: 6 Months Fixed Term
Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
About the role:
- Provide a welcoming, safe, and consistent environment within the residential service
- Support the development of a positive and inclusive recovery community, encouraging peer support and mutual respect among residents
- Plan and facilitate structured daily activities such as group work, recovery-focused sessions, games, and community-building exercises
- Engage residents in meaningful one-to-one activities, such as gardening, wellbeing activities, and informal check-ins to support their emotional and practical needs
- Carry out regular resident check-ins to support wellbeing, identify needs, and promote engagement with the programme
- Support effective and accurate medicines management processes
- Identify risks and follow processes and procedures including accurate Incident reporting where appropriate.
- Contribute to effective team communication through detailed handovers, ensuring continuity of care, risk management and shared understanding of resident progress and needs
- Work collaboratively with the wider team, attending handover meetings to share information and best practice
- Support residents to develop life skills, confidence, and routines that promote independent living and sustained recovery
- Encourage engagement with internal programmes and external recovery communities where appropriate
- Maintain professional boundaries while building trusting, non-judgemental relationships with residents
- Support with management of the environment, ensuring cleanliness and health and safety are up to a high standard
About you:
- Lived experience of drug and/or alcohol misuse and a passion for supporting others in recovery
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, alongside basic IT skills
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with individuals with complex needs, remaining empathetic and non-judgemental
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a structured residential setting
- Able to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to challenging situations
