We are looking for an experienced Practitioner or existing Team Leader to join our team as a Permanent Team Leader, supporting services across HMP The Verne and HMP Portland.

As Team Leader, you will provide visible and effective leadership across both sites, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred services. You will play a key role in motivating teams, driving performance, and maintaining excellent standards of care and support.

Location: HMP The Verne & HMP Portland
Hours: 37.5 hours per weekContract: Permanent, Full Time
Full‑time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part‑time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
About the Role
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will:
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, guidance, and support to staff across both prison sites.
- Lead by example, promoting a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing team culture.
- Ensure services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with organisational policies, contractual requirements, and best practice.
- Support staff development through coaching, supervision, and performance management.
- Monitor performance, quality, and outcomes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with prison colleagues and partner agencies.
- Contribute to service development and the achievement of key organisational objectives.
- Champion Change Grow Live's values through your leadership and decision‑making.
About You
We are particularly interested in hearing from:
- Experienced Practitioners who are ready to progress into a leadership role.
- Existing Team Leaders seeking a new challenge within a values‑driven organisation.
You will ideally have:
- Significant experience working within substance misuse, criminal justice, health, social care, or related services.
- Experience supporting, mentoring, supervising, or leading staff teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to motivate others and drive positive performance.
- A commitment to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred services.
- Experience of partnership working and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent organisational, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting people to change, grow, and live healthier lives.

Salary Range (pro rata if part time)
CGL points 31 to 33 (£36,101.10 - £38,114.53)
