Overview

RISE (a consortium, led by Change Grow Live, and includes Central and North West London NHS Mental Health Trust, andservice user-led organisation Build on Belief) is the integrated end-to-end treatment and recovery service which offers a wide range of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions to Ealing residents 18 years and over.
A new RISE Primary Care Assessment Team (PCAT) has been formed to navigate Ealing resident GP patients who are not currently accessing Structured Treatment but with concerns around alcohol &/or illicit drug use into RISE and provide psycho-social interventions within the primary care setting.
We therefore have an exciting opportunity for an Entry Into Service (EIS) Engagement Workerwho has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.
Where: Ealing
Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week
Contract Type: Fixed term for 12 months
*Please note:Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
The post holder will:
- Work with service users to identify personalised management plans and activities to support reducing substance use behaviours.
- Support and act as a service user advocate and connect them with other services to help them manage their dependencies
- Provide crisis intervention, offer emotional, practical and psychosocial support by practicing active listening, motivational interviewing techniques and solution-focused approaches to work through individual needs
- Support services users to develop social skills and work on behaviour management to maximise social inclusion and help them integrate more in their community and to engage with relevant statutory services.
About you:
- Have an interest in working within in a drug and alcohol setting.
- Experience of having worked with vulnerable people in either mental health or drug and alcohol services
- Awareness of the multi-systemic issues experienced by people affected directlyand indirectly by substance and alcohol use
- Demonstrate a high level of verbal/written communication
- Able to develop and maintain the therapeutic alliance
