Are you in recovery from drug and/or alcohol use and passionate about using your lived experience to inspire others? This is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference as a Peer Mentor in our DWP-funded project in Hull.
Responsibilities
- Inspire and support people in recovery to manage their dependencies and access the right support.
- Work one-to-one with individuals to understand their goals, aspirations, and next steps towards employment.
- Build confidence, provide emotional support, and empower people to take control of their recovery journey.
- Collaborate with individuals to create, review, and evaluate action plans that help them achieve their personal and professional goals.
- Work closely with DWP work coaches and local substance misuse services to ensure holistic and joined-up support.
Location, Hours & Salary
- Location: Hull, East Yorkshire
- Hours: Full Time - 37.5 per week
- Salary: £25,077 per annum* (pro rata for part-time)
- Contract Type: Fixed term TBC
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings compassion, resilience, and the ability to connect with people on a human level. You will have:
- Lived experience of substance misuse and recovery.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with empathy and respect.
- Confidence in working independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to working with clear professional boundaries.
