Overview

Digital Engagement Worker

Nottinghamshire | Home Based | Full Time | 37.5 Hours

Help shape the future of recovery support.

Recovery doesn't always begin by walking through a door.

Sometimes it starts with a phone call. A video conversation. A moment when someone feels ready to make a change.

At Change Grow Live, we are expanding how people access drug and alcohol support. Our Digital Engagement Service provides flexible, structured interventions remotely, helping people engage earlier, reduce harm and take meaningful steps towards recovery.

We are looking for a Digital Engagement Worker to support people across Nottinghamshire through compassionate, evidence-informed digital interventions.

Guided by our values—Be Open, Be Compassionate and Be Bold—we're creating services that are more accessible, more innovative and designed around the people who use them. Through our Digital Engagement Service, we're reaching people in new ways, reducing barriers to treatment and making recovery support available wherever it's needed.

The opportunity

You will build trusted relationships with people experiencing lower-level drug and alcohol use, delivering a programme of virtual sessions by telephone, Microsoft Teams and other digital channels.

From assessment and recovery planning through to harm reduction, brief interventions and aftercare, you will help people understand their options, build confidence and connect with the support that is right for them.

You will use motivational interviewing and trauma-informed approaches, respond confidently to risk and safeguarding concerns, and work closely with local Change Grow Live teams and partner organisations to create a smooth pathway between digital and community services.

Although this is a home-based role, you'll be supporting people across Nottinghamshire and will occasionally work from one of our local hubs. A good understanding of Nottinghamshire, its communities, treatment pathways and wider support networks is essential, enabling you to connect people with the right support at the right time.

The details

Location: Home based, supporting people across Nottinghamshire, with the option to work from a local hub where required.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. The role includes some evening and weekend working as part of a rota.

Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

What you will bring

You're someone who believes that meaningful relationships can be built through empathy, curiosity and trust—even when those conversations happen online.

You'll have experience supporting people affected by drug and alcohol use, or within a related health or social care setting, together with a strong understanding of recovery, harm reduction and person-centred practice.

You will understand recovery, harm reduction and person-centred practice, and be confident building relationships in a non-face-to-face environment. You will also bring sound judgement, strong digital communication skills and the ability to manage risk, safeguarding and competing priorities.

Knowledge of brief interventions, motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care will be important. Experience of digital service delivery, early intervention or digital inclusion would be an advantage.

Above all, you will be someone who listens, adapts and believes that meaningful change can begin with a single conversation.
