Overview

Digital Engagement Team Leader

West Sussex | Permanent | Full Time

Help shape the future of digital support in West Sussex.

Some leadership roles manage services.

This one will help change how people connect with support.

At Change Grow Live, we’re using digital innovation to make treatment and recovery support more accessible, responsive and inclusive.

As our Digital Engagement Team Leader, you’ll lead a dedicated West Sussex digital engagement team, working closely with colleagues across the local service and alongside our National Digital Engagement Service.

Together, you’ll help create a connected digital offer that gives people greater choice in how, when and where they access support.

If you’re passionate about people, energised by innovation and ready to lead a service that can make a lasting difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Why this opportunity?

Digital engagement is changing the way people connect with drug and alcohol services.

For some people, attending a service in person can feel difficult. Digital support can remove barriers, increase flexibility and help people engage at a time and in a way that works for them.

This role gives you the opportunity to shape how digital engagement is delivered across West Sussex while contributing to the wider development of our national model.

You’ll bring our local team into CGL's national teams, helping ensure that digital pathways are consistent, accessible and fully connected to wider treatment and recovery services.

This isn’t simply about leading a team.

It’s about creating a culture where colleagues feel supported, innovation is encouraged and people using our services receive safe, compassionate and high-quality support.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead, coach and develop a team of Digital Engagement Workers delivering support through telephone, video and other digital channels.

You’ll:

  • Create an inclusive, connected and high-performing team culture.
  • Lead service quality, performance and continuous improvement.
  • Support colleagues to deliver safe, person-centred and recovery-focused interventions.
  • Work closely with West Sussex operational teams to embed digital support within local treatment pathways.
  • Collaborate with the National Digital Engagement Service to share learning, strengthen practice and develop consistent ways of working.
  • Use data, feedback and service user insight to improve access, engagement and outcomes.
  • Maintain strong oversight of safeguarding, risk, governance and professional practice.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal teams, commissioners, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Encourage new ideas and help shape the future of digital delivery across Change Grow Live.

Where you’ll work

Location: This role will support the delivery of digital engagement across our West Sussex service. You’ll work closely with local teams across the county and alongside colleagues within the National Digital Engagement Service.

The role will offer a blend of remote and service-based working, with travel across West Sussex and occasional travel to other Change Grow Live locations where required.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. The role includes some evening and weekend working as part of a rota.

Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About you

You understand that great leadership is about creating the conditions for people to do their best work.

You’ll be confident leading teams through change, building trusted relationships and bringing colleagues together around a shared purpose.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience leading teams within drug and alcohol services, health, social care, wellbeing or a related environment.
  • Experience managing service quality, performance and continuous improvement.
  • The ability or experience to lead a remote, hybrid or geographically dispersed team.
  • Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Confidence using data and insight to inform decisions and improve services.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding, risk management, governance and professional boundaries.
  • A collaborative approach and an interest in developing innovative ways of working.

Most importantly, you’ll believe in the potential of people and understand how digital support can create new opportunities for engagement and positive change.

Why this role is different

You’ll have the opportunity to influence digital delivery at both a local and national level.

You’ll shape the West Sussex digital offer while working alongside the National Digital Engagement Service to develop shared learning, strengthen pathways and improve the experience of people accessing support.

Your leadership will help ensure that digital engagement is not treated as a separate service, but as an integral part of how we provide flexible, accessible and responsive care.

A place to grow your leadership career

At Change Grow Live, you’ll join an organisation that is ambitious about the future and committed to delivering services that are compassionate, inclusive and evidence-led.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop your leadership experience, influence service design and work alongside colleagues who are committed to improving the lives of people affected by drug and alcohol use.

Our values—Be open. Be compassionate. Be bold.—guide everything we do. If they reflect the way you lead, we’d love to hear from you.

When completing your application, please explain how your leadership experience, skills and motivation align with the essential requirements of the role.
