Responsibilities

As a Senior Practitioner, you will take a leading role within the CYP service, supporting the delivery of high-quality interventions and ensuring best practice across the team. You will:

  • Hold a complex caseload, supporting children and young people affected by substance use, risk-taking behaviours, and wider vulnerabilities
  • Deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions tailored to individual needs
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to practitioners, helping to build confidence, capability and consistency
  • Support safeguarding processes and risk management, ensuring young people are protected and supported effectively
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, social care, youth justice services and other partners
  • Contribute to service development, improving how we engage and support young people

This is a dynamic role where you will balance direct practice with leadership responsibilities, helping to create a service that is responsive, inclusive and impactful.

  • Has experience working with children and young people, particularly those affected by substance use or complex needs
  • Demonstrates strong safeguarding knowledge and experience managing risk
  • Can deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions
  • Has the confidence to support and guide others, acting as a role model within the team
  • Communicates effectively with young people, families and professionals
  • Is organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Is committed to continuous learning and professional development

What we will give to you:

  • 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays. Additionally, you'll receive one extra day of annual leave for each year of service during your first five years, therefore you will enjoy 30 days of leave after five years with us.
