About the Role
The Recovery Motivator will support the delivery of high quality service provision by creating an ambitious service user focused culture and engaging staff to provide a continually improving and innovative service. The role is designed to enable ‘first steps into employment’ and will be based within the Substance Misuse Setting. The ideal candidate is someone who is themselves in recovery in respect of drug or alcohol use or has experience of living with drug or alcohol misuse within their family. They will work with those directly impacted by their own drug or alcohol misuse, their families and friends, and key partners to empower communities.
Responsibilities
- Be a welcoming and inspiring presence within the Recovery Hub.
- Support individuals transitioning from structured treatment into long-term community recovery.
- Help develop and deliver hub-based activities and community opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with volunteers and Lived Experience Recovery Organisations (LEROs).
- Provide guidance, signposting and motivational support.
- Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Promote the Recovery Hub as a safe, inclusive and empowering environment.
Qualifications
- Passionate about recovery and helping others.
- Compassionate, empathetic and non-judgmental.
- Creative and enthusiastic about community engagement.
- A positive communicator and relationship-builder.
- Able to work flexibly and use initiative; working hours 12 - 8 pm.
- Lived experience of drug and/or alcohol misuse is welcomed.

Location: Coventry
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week (part‑time pro‑rata).
Salary: £25,077.00 per annum, dependent on experience.
