We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Consultant Addictions Psychiatrist to join our highly regarded Bi-Borough service, supporting residents across Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. You'll play a pivotal role in helping people affected by substance use achieve safer, healthier and more fulfilling lives while shaping the development of a high-performing multidisciplinary service.

About you
You'll be an accomplished Consultant Psychiatrist with a passion for addiction medicine and a commitment to improving outcomes for people experiencing substance use and mental health challenges. You'll bring:
- Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
- MRCPsych (or equivalent).
- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register as a Consultant Psychiatrist with endorsement in Substance Misuse.
- Significant experience working within addiction psychiatry and substance misuse services.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing service development.
- Strong knowledge of addiction treatment, prescribing and clinical governance.
- A collaborative leadership style and commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
The Details
Hours: Part Time – 22.5 Hours per Week Monday to Wednesday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: Competitive Consultant Salary Package For part-time roles, salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:
- Acting as Clinical Lead for the service, providing expert leadership and clinical governance.
- Delivering specialist addiction psychiatry clinics, assessments and evidence-based treatment interventions.
- Leading on complex clinical decision-making, prescribing and treatment planning.
- Providing supervision and support to prescribers, nurses and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Developing pathways for individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health needs.
- Supporting service development, clinical audit, quality improvement and governance activity.
- Building strong relationships with GPs, mental health services, acute trusts, local authorities and other partner organisations.
- Contributing to the development of innovative and integrated models of care.
