Join us to apply for the Children and Young People's Volunteer - Cannock role at Change Grow Live. Our Independent Visiting service is seeking volunteers in or near Cannock.

Are you passionate about helping young people? Do you have 2 to 4 hours to spare once a month? Are you ready to commit long-term and regularly? If yes, and you want to support a child or young person in local authority care, we'd love to hear from you.

Become an Independent Visitor

We seek fun, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteers from diverse backgrounds interested in making a difference. You will choose activities with your young person, such as cinema, bowling, sports, dining out, biking, or walking in the park. We will match you based on shared interests. No prior experience working with children is necessary—just an interest in their development and welfare. Full training and support are provided.

  • Amy (12): Lives with an older carer; enjoys sports.
  • Brad (13): Lives in residential care; wants outings and fun activities.
  • Cassie (16): New in town; seeks confidence-building activities, loves hot chocolate and cake.
  • Danny (11): Lives with foster carers; interested in parks, planes, animals.
  • Emma (9): Lives in a busy household; wants solo activities.

The Application Process

Most volunteering occurs on weekends and after school. Requires a commitment of at least 24 months with one visit per month for stability. Complete the Personal Statement section thoroughly on the application form; it is crucial for shortlisting.
