We have an exciting opportunity for a Prison In-Reach Recovery Coordinator who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. You will have some experience of engaging with individuals with multiple and/or complex needs and demonstrate a determined approach to finding solutions. The successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS check and obtain HMPPS security clearance.

Where: Sefton

Hours: Full time, 37.5 Hours per week

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role: The Prison In-Reach Worker will act as the main coordinator providing comprehensive assessments; coordinate the resettlement plan from prison by liaising with relevant agencies. The post holder will be the navigator for these interventions, and advocate on behalf of the service user.

  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
  • Carry out comprehensive service user assessments, including mapping of community resources and develop individual action plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing offending/substance use and re/integrating into the community
  • Work closely with prison security departments when assessing risk and develop strong links with partner agencies within the prison system
  • Work as part of a team to identify people who have a history of substance misuse and reoffending resulting in custodial sentences

About you:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain prison security clearance
  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Knowledge of anti-social behaviour legislation
  • Experience of working with people who have offending backgrounds including Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements.
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system.
  • Ability to travel between Peterborough and Norfolk.
