What’s the role?

  • Meet individuals at the prison gate and drive them safely to their designated Probation Office.
  • Use your own vehicle to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive journey.
  • Work alongside our Dependency and Recovery Coordinators and other volunteers to help people transition smoothly back into the community.

Practical details

  • You’ll need your own vehicle and a valid driving licence, MOT and insurance.
  • Must have at least 2 years driving experience on a full licence.
  • Must not have been disqualified for drink/drug driving in the last 5 years.
  • Must not have any points for any major offences on the driving licence.
  • Mileage expenses are reimbursed.
  • Availability – Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday or Thursday during the mornings.

This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS. You must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this volunteering role. This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.
