We are now looking for a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our Kirklees service in Dewsbury. This is an opportunity to join a supportive, multidisciplinary team that is passionate about improving lives and delivering high-quality care to people within the local community.
About the Role
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the clinical and recovery teams to deliver compassionate, person-centred care. Working closely alongside Nurses, Recovery Coordinators and wider colleagues, you will support people accessing the service with a range of healthcare and harm reduction interventions, helping to improve both physical and mental wellbeing. No two days are the same in this role. You will work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs, so flexibility, empathy and strong communication skills are essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting clinical interventions for people affected by drug and alcohol use
- Assisting the Nursing Team to deliver safe and effective care pathways
- Delivering harm reduction interventions and health promotion advice
- Supporting physical and mental health assessments
- Undertaking phlebotomy and supporting vaccine storage processes (full training provided)
- Building positive and professional relationships with service users
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting high standards of care and governance
- Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

You do not need extensive experience in substance misuse services to apply. We welcome applicants from healthcare, social care, community support or related backgrounds who are passionate about helping others and willing to learn.
