The West Lothian Recovery Service is seeking volunteers to support the smooth running of our Recovery Cafés. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and interested in working within an adults drug and alcohol service to support people in their recovery and the wider recovery community.
Responsibilities:
- Assist staff and other volunteers during weekly Recovery Café sessions at Blackburn and Livingston locations.
- Provide friendly, punctual support to service users and the recovery community, maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Cover the duty volunteer rota, which may include light office tasks such as photocopying, managing phone calls, greeting guests, taking basic referral information and forwarding to staff.
- Support the Friday Box‑Fit group, following staff instructions as outlined in the key activities.
Requirements:
- Good communication skills and an understanding of the recovery community.
- Capacity to work within professional boundaries and maintain confidentiality.
- Availability for approximately 4 hours per week while the Recovery Café operates.
