Test Engineer – Permanent – Edinburgh – up to £42K plus benefits (Hybrid)
Change Digital are partnered with an established professional services company in Edinburgh who are looking for a Test Engineer to join their existing team.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
- To fulfil this role, the Test Engineer must have great attention to detail, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Someone who is happy suggesting improvements to the testing and enjoys the satisfaction those improvements would bring to the organisation.
- A strong relationship builder who will challenge and collaborate.
- Well organised and able to track multiple workflows.

The role will assist the development teams in providing good quality testing processes for new and existing development:
- Write and maintain test plans for key functions across projects.
- Develop test automation skills and improve processes in the development team.
- Provide feedback and intelligence on usability, fitness for purpose in developed software.
- Support release prep, testing and deployment for legacy projects.
The developers will continue to write unit and integration tests as part of their day-to-day jobs and take ultimate responsibility for the quality of the code that goes out. The tester role will concentrate on working closely with development teams to ensure that:
- Developed solutions match business needs.
- Ensure there are no blind spots or knock-on effects from changes.
- Help move from UAT to release in a timely fashion.
- Free up time and resources in the existing support and test teams.

- Better quality releases all around for legacy and new projects.
- A zero instant fixes environment would save a lot of hassle, time and effort.
- Reduced time from test to UAT and release.
- Increasing functional test coverage with automation.
