Software Engineer – Permanent – Edinburgh – up to £60K plus benefits (Fully remote position). Change Digital are partnering with an established software product company in Edinburgh to support their software development growth plans and ongoing business. You will enjoy solving technical challenges using a wide array of different technologies and have a structured career path which will support your technical growth from your starting position to Software Architect. Duties

  • Write code every day
  • Implementing new product features
  • Fixing bugs
  • Writing automated tests
  • Developing and supporting our automated build system
  • Working with business analysts or product owners to define new features
  • Deploying releases to customer and cloud systems
  • Moving older parts of the system to modern technologies
  • Giving support to customers
  • Writing technical documentation

Essential Skills and experience

  • At least 4 years of experience of:
  • Web development on the Microsoft tech stack (C#, .NET, HTML, CSS)
  • SQL database programming, ideally SQL Server
  • JavaScript programming
  • Using a source control system (we use TFS and git)
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • A professional attitude and approach
  • Self-disciplined
  • Responsible attitude – you take ownership and see things through to completion
  • Work well with others in a team
  • Caring about the impact of your code over the non-functional requirements
  • Believing that knowledge is the right way to get things done
