Change Digital are working with a forward-thinking financial services organisation on a mission to transform how advice is delivered—making it more accessible, affordable and impactful for customers. They are now looking for an experienced Data Migration Engineer to play a key role in delivering data migration and archival solutions on a modern AWS-based data platform.
The Role
This is a hands‑on engineering role with strong ownership, focused on designing and delivering data migration and archival solutions that ensure:
- Data accuracy and integrity
- Security and compliance
- Long‑term accessibility and auditability
You’ll work closely with Architecture, Security and Delivery teams, contributing to strategy while leading implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Data Migration & Archival
- Support migration and archival strategy, design, and implementation
- Build scalable processes for data movement, storage, and retrieval
- Ensure archived data is secure, discoverable, and fully auditable
- Implement validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks
- Produce documentation, runbooks, and handover materials
Technical Leadership
- Act as the engineering lead for migration and archival delivery
- Drive best practices across automation
- Identify risks early and propose practical solutions
- Build and operate solutions using AWS-native services
- Apply Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD practices
- Deliver secure, scalable, and cost‑efficient solutions
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work across engineering, architecture, and business teams
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions
- Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience delivering data migration and archival solutions in complex environments
- Proven expertise with AWS data platforms
- Deep understanding of data lifecycle management (retention, retrieval, decommissioning)
- Strong hands‑on experience with Python (automation, orchestration), Terraform & Git
- Solid knowledge of data quality and reconciliation techniques
- Secure data handling and compliance
- Experience with modern data architectures (Lakehouse, serverless, event‑driven)
- Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring
- Background in regulated environments
