Are you an experienced Senior / Lead Developer? Do you have experience working in financial services, Life & Pension or savings & investments? Would you like to work for a Scottish based company who are going through a really interesting transformation? They are Glasgow city centre based and it's hybrid working (2 days a week in the office).
You will be responsible for the provision of technical leadership, design and development of coding solutions for them. Responsibilities include:
- Lead the design and development of IT projects and initiatives.
- Contribute to and recommend improvements to existing processes that utilise their core Policy Admin Systems.
- Work closely with internal and external business stakeholders at a senior level, alongside IT Application delivery teams to understand, test and design new developments often which are complex in nature.
- Present complex analytical concepts to all levels of the business.
- Provide training and mentorship to other colleagues in support of team and individual development.
- Development and maintenance of technical IT solutions in support of business objectives recognising the need for cost effective delivery while balancing the cost of technology ownership.
- Liaise with external software providers to deliver optimal design, delivery of cost effective solutions while ensuring third party deliver to an acceptable quality levels.
Skills and experience:
- Desire to develop and deliver team level improvements including the support/development of other team members.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills, being able to work through a problem, try different solutions.
- Experience within financial services and knowledge of Life/Pensions/Investment products.
- Awareness/experience of workflow solutions.
- Knowledge T-SQL/P-SQL.
- An understanding of data manipulation and analysis using SQL and Oracle tools and writing/maintaining stored procedures in support of our development community.
- Understanding of T-SQL/PL-SQL and/or Development experience in these technologies.
- Experience of developing skills in SSIS.
- A logical thinker with initiative and ability to problem solve.
