Change Digital are recruiting on behalf of our award-winning client a hands-on Quality Engineer passionate about building quality into modern software systems and enabling teams to release with confidence.

The experienced Senior Software Engineers in Test will be joining two high-performing engineering teams within a modern B2C/SaaS environment. You’ll play a key role in embedding quality across the full software lifecycle, from early design (shift-left) through to production validation (shift-right). This is not a traditional QA role. You’ll work closely with developers to improve testability, automation, observability, and overall system reliability across complex, distributed systems.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Vercel
  • Backend: Python, Java, TypeScript, AWS Lambda, API Gateway
  • Infrastructure: Terraform, AWS CDK
  • Testing & Tools: Jest, Playwright, Grafana K6

Full testing pyramid: Unit, Integration, Contract, and E2E

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify quality risks across architecture, integrations, and data flows
  • Design and implement automated tests within CI/CD pipelines
  • Validate backend services, APIs, and distributed systems
  • Enhance release confidence through metrics, observability, and production insights
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to improve testability and reliability
  • Strengthen practices such as contract testing, integration testing, and test data management

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience as a hands-on Quality Engineer / SDET
  • Strong automation expertise across unit, integration, contract, and E2E testing
  • Proven experience testing APIs, backend services, and distributed systems
  • Comfortable working in CI/CD-driven environments
  • Experience with cloud platforms (ideally AWS)
  • Strong understanding of test data management challenges
  • A data-driven mindset focused on measurable quality improvements

Nice to Have:

  • TypeScript and Playwright experience
  • Python testing (pytest / unittest)
  • Exposure to serverless architectures
  • Performance or reliability testing experience
